Abstract (EN)
OBJECTIVE: In this study, it was aimed to reveal prognostic factors for ovarian cancer survival. MATERIAL and METHODS: The clinical files of 71 patients who were operated for ovarian tumor in Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University Hospital Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic between June 2018 and August 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. Data on the surgical procedure performed, clinicopathological findings, general and disease-free survival information were analyzed from the files of the patients who met the inclusion criteria. RESULTS: In patients receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy; preoperative ascites rate, increased preoperative CA 125/CA 19-9 rate and BRCA1 positive rate were higher (p<0.05). In cases with lymph node metastasis; Preoperative ascites rate, CA 125 level, CA 15-3 level and advanced disease rate were higher in cases (p<0.005). In cases with lymphovascular space invasion; probability of advanced stage, high peritoneal cancer index, preoperative CA 125 level, CA 15-3 level, preoperative CA 125/CA 15-3 ratio, preoperative CA 125/CA 19- 9 ratio, preoperative CA 15-3/CA 19-9 rate is higher (p<0.05). Probability of WT1 positivity in cases with preoperative ascites, preoperative high CA 125, preoperative high CA 15-3, preoperative high CA 125/CA 15-5 rate, preoperative CA 125/Ca 19-9 rate, preoperative high CA 15-3/Ca A ratio of 19-9 was determined (p<0.05). As the stage increased, preoperative high CA 125 level, high CA 15-3, preoperative high CA 125/CA 15-3 ratio, preoperative high CA 125/CA 19-9 ratio, preoperative high CA 15-3/CA 19-9 ratio were found( p<0.05). In the factors affecting mortality; advanced stage was positively correlated, while the rate of estrogen receptor positivity was negatively correlated (p<0.05). The probability of recurrence was higher in advanced cases (p<0.05). While the mean disease- free survival was better in platinum-sensitive cases, the mean survival did not change. Conclusion: Many prognostic factors are effective in ovarian cancer survival. Especially preoperative resectability, presence of ascites and factors associated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy are noteworthy for further studies on this subject.
