Analysis of turkish and Turkish culture course in terms of religious culture and moral knowledge teaching for Turkish children abroad (Switzerland example)

In this study, the teaching of Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge taught in Turkish and Turkish Culture courses for Turkish children abroad has been analysed with various data sources. Turkish and Turkish Culture Education Program prepared by MoNE in 2010 and the units of Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge in Turkish Culture Course teaching material were analysed with document examination technique. At the same time, Turkish teachers assigned by the Ministry of Education in the 2017-2018 academic year in Switzerland, students who attended this course, the parents of the students and persons with high level of knowledge and competence in total the views of 40 people were collected with a semi-structured interview form. In this research case study of qualitative research patterns was used and the current functioning of the course were analysed descriptively. In the first part of the study, the problem situation is summarized and the aim, importance, method and researches of the subject are given. In the second part; In the third section, the research findings are listed. In the fourth section; The findings were discussed and interpreted with the results of other researches, and results and recommendations were presented. Within the scope of our research; Switzerland's refusal to allow religious education in mother tongue and culture courses, parents belonging different ethnic and religious denominations see religion education as the basis of conflict and the course's intensive content that exceeds the level of language and comprehension causes the course not to be processed. According to this, it was concluded that the content of religious teaching to be given in Turkish and Turkish culture class should be simplified and should be re-evaluated with an interdisciplinary approach and rich content that nourishes religious, cultural and moral identity.
