Abstract (EN)
Organizational commitment is an important concept that gives information about the commitment levels of employees to the institution to analyze their productivity. Also, the concept of job satisfaction, which gives information about the employees' adoption of the job, their attitudes towards the job, and their motivations about the job, is also seen as an important concept. There are various discussions in the literature about the existence of a relationship between these two concepts that have similar characteristics. As a contribution to these discussions, the effect of organizational commitment on job satisfaction was analyzed in our study. It was concluded that organizational commitment affects job satisfaction in the survey application conducted for 306 municipal policemen working in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. In addition, the relationship between the sub-dimensions of organizational commitment and the sub-dimensions of job satisfaction was examined by path analysis. As a result of the analysis, the coefficients in the model and model as a whole were found statistically significant. The sub-dimensions of the organizational commitment scale positively explain the sub-dimensions of the job satisfaction scale. Besides, statistical significance was found in demographic variables such as educational status, seniority, and place of employment in organizational commitment. In job satisfaction, statistical significance was found in demographic variables such as gender, duration of employment, and way of working. Based on these results, it was suggested that the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality should resort to different policies to increase the organizational commitment of the municipal policemen.
