Abstract (EN)
Dictionaries are regarded as a reliable means to preserve the linguistic heritage and facilitate its learning. We refer to it to encounter difficulties of understanding the meaning of a word or its pronunciation. In this era, it's essential to turn to electronic dictionaries as a high-speed tool for searching words. The issue of linguistic interference and errors is one of the syntactic issues that pose a challenge for non-natives. The study focused on the problem of errors that occur among preparatory-level students in using verbs correctly and understanding the accompanying prepositions. It aims to clarify the causes of these errors from a contrastive linguistic perspective. Additionally, it discusses the problem of the absence of a specialized dictionary in this field that suits non-Arabic speakers. The importance of the study lies in its depth and comprehensiveness, as it traces the causes of errors committed by Turkish speakers in the use of the verb, both in terms of syntactic, morphological, and lexical perspectives simultaneously. The study aimed to establish a scientific framework for a specialized lexical model that includes essential and derived verbs, classified on scientific and pedagogical bases, to serve as a reference for learners at various linguistic and educational levels. The study also focused on designing a bilingual electronic lexicon database After monitoring students' mistakes through an applied study at the Arabic Language Center at (May 19) University during the academic year 2021/2022. This comprehensive lexicon is a reliable resource, saving the researcher the effort of consulting multiple sources. The study adopted a mixed-method approach to obtain understanding of the research problem; Quantitative method to collect data and calculate error rates, while Qualitative method was used to interpret and examine the foundations of compiling dictionaries. This approach enabled an achievement in this field of critiquing and evaluating the design of the desired lexical model, a, individually or in combination. The study observed in its results the errors committed, and the findings were employed to bridge the gap between the native language and its impact on lexical errors. This filled a gap in the field of compiling a bilingual dictionary model: Arabic-Turkish, for both essential and derived verbs that primarily relied on verbs, their classification, and translation into the Turkish language, with attention given to examples to serve as a guide for the correct usage of verbs and their patterns.
