Abstract (EN)
This study aimed to examine the moderating role of psychological resilience and perceived social support in the relationship between prenatal attachment and depression in mothers with children between the ages of 0-2. The study group consisted of 100 mothers with children between the ages of 0-2. Data obtained from the participants were collected online via the Prenatal Attachment Scale, Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale Short Form (CDRSSF), Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI)-Depression Subscale and Sociodemographic Information Form. Multiple linear hierarchical regression analyses were used to analyze the basic hypotheses of the study. The findings obtained as a result of the analyses indicated that neither psychological resilience (β=,043, SH=,099, t=,434, p>0.05) nor perceived social support (β=-,107, SH=,106, t=-1,012, p>0.05) had a moderating effect on the relationship between prenatal attachment and depression. However, it was found that there was a negative relationship between the predicted variable of the study, depression, and prenatal attachment, psychological resilience and perceived social support scores. In the t-test analyses conducted to examine whether the main variables of the study differed according to the sociodemographic characteristics of the participants, it was found that the depression score differed according to the perceived income level. In addition, it was found that the acceptance subscale of prenatal attachment and the family subscale of perceived social support differed according to the duration of marriage. As a result, it was seen that psychological resilience and perceived social support did not have a moderating effect on the relationship between prenatal attachment and depression. It is expected that the study will contribute to preventive and curative interventions to protect the health of the mother and the baby from the pregnancy period. The results of the study were discussed in line with the relevant literature.
