Abstract (EN)
The aim of this project is to evaluate retrospectively the cases of application of antiepileptic drugs to Manisa Celal Bayar University Department of Pharmacology, 2008-2015. As with epileptic seizures, antiepileptic drugs used in the treatment of epilepsy also have some side effects, which appear to be teratogenic effects during pregnancy. In this study, women who used antiepileptic drugs during pregnancy were asked questions about pregnancy, childbirth and general health status of the child and the answers were recorded. In addition to healthy babies, low births, stillbirths, terminated pregnancies and congenital malformations were encountered. Since poliomyelitis increases the teratogenic risks in pregnancies, drugs with the least number of treatments, the lowest dose and the lowest possible teratogenic risks should be preferred. Key Words: Antiepileptic drugs, pregnancy, teratogenicity
