Abstract (EN)

TV series, which are important elements of television programs, have been preferred by Turkish television viewers in recent years. As can be seen from the ratings, the most preferred programs are the series. Certain codes are loaded into roles in arrays. These codes are reflected to the viewer and in a way they position themselves. Male codes are created in accordance with the patriarchal discourse patterns of the Turkish social structure. These appear as male roles. Examples of code that conform to traditional structure or adapt to modernization are reflected by male roles. If we take into consideration the feature of television directing the society or grafting what we want, it is appropriate to say that the men "must-have" behavior patterns that are reflected in the male roles are transformed into social phenomena. In this study, it will be examined how masculine discourse is realized in television series.
