Abstract (EN)

The field of international relations is evolving and deepening as the global issues are changing over the years. Climate migration, which is the most outstanding global phenomenon of 21th century, emerged both as a security problem and a new study area for international relations discipline. The aim of this thesis is to demonstrate the inefficacy of traditional theories of international relations in regarding climate migration as a security issue, and to recommend the security perspective of Green Political Theory as an alternative approach. For this purpose, after framing the theoretical perspective of Green Political Theory and traditional perspectives, question of global warming and climate migration evaluated with regard to theoretical framework, respectively. Consequently, the normative and practical value of ecological security offered by Green Theory is presented.
