In democracies, political communication has become essential agent. In comparison with the past years, in has gained much mor important dimensions. At present times, the political agenda of Turkey can be determined by a visual image, a photo, or a slogan used in the political communication processes. Especially, we cannat eny the importance and effect of photos and slogans on the communication in between politician and voter.Before March 29 2009 national elections, the political parties continued to use photos in their propaganda advertisements in order to persuade and influence their voter.In the first chapter, the topics of communication and mass communication, political communication have been studied. In the second chapter, under the title of Propaganda, propaganda terms, political parties in political communication atmosphere and elections are examined, consequently the importance of 29 March 2009 election is expressed.In the third chapter, the visual and printed advertisements of four political parties appeared on newspapers in Eskisehir (in the period of 01 -28 March) have been examined with a perspective of semiotics and descriptive method.
