Evaluation of the Qur'an courses teaching program for 4-6 years in religious information-1 learning field in terms of achievements

In today's world which is globalizing and rapidly changing with technology, religious and moral values are being undermined day by day and education in these areas is getting harder and harder. Our children, who are totally besieged by unfavorable effects, alienate away from society and its values, becoming individualized. Perhaps the teaching of values has never been so important or difficult as it is today. The most critical period for this education is between 0-6 years old. For this purpose, the Qur'an courses project for children aged 4-6, launched by the Presidency of Religious Affairs in 2013, is of particular importance. In order to make the curriculum of this project more efficient and effective, to make its planning, to identify its deficiencies, if any, and to propose solutions that address them, the education program should be revised periodically, taking into account the changing times and conditions. In doing this, one of the most important issues is to take into consideration the cognitive, social, emotional, physical, religious and moral development of children. In this study, we tried to examine the learning outcomes of the section Religious Knowledge 1 of the instructional program of the Presidency of Religious Affairs for children aged 4-6 in terms of their appropriateness for the developmental characteristics of children. The present study consists of three parts. In the first part, the historical process, formation and curriculum of Qur'an courses for those aged 4-6 years, and in the second part, the developmental characteristics of children aged 4-6 are discussed. In the third part of the study, we examined the appropriateness of the learning outcomes of the units in the Religious Knowledge 1 (Prayer, Gratitude and Apology, Love and Compassion, Respect, Responsibility, Cooperation, Patience, Kindness, Truthfulness and Honesty, Justice) in the instruction program of 4-6 year olds for their developmental characteristics.
