Investigation of the relationship between emotional intelligence and psychological well-being levels of 60-72 months old children

Children between the ages of 60 and 72 months will participate in this research to assess the relationship between emotional intelligence and psychological well-being. The relational screening method was used to the study's execution. 245 preschoolers in Denizli between the ages of 60 and 72 months who attend independent kindergartens and kindergartens affiliated with the Ministry of National Education make up the sample. Throughout the data collection process, the "Personal Information Form," "Sullivan-Emotional Intelligence Scale for Children," and "Psychological Well-Being Scale for 5-6 Years-Old Children" were used. Statistical tools such the one-way analysis of variance, descriptive analysis, correlation analysis, and independent group t-test were used to analyze the collected data. The results show that there are no gender differences in the emotional quotient or psychological acuity of children. However, according to the mother's education level variable, a significant difference was found between the children's emotional intelligence scores and the sub-dimensions of detecting emotions and managing emotions with the physical health sub-dimension of psychological well-being. The low externalization and value behaviors sub-dimensions and the children's emotional intelligence scores significantly correlated with the father's educational level. Mother and father's ages, as well as emotional intelligence and psychological health, did not substantially differ. On the other hand, a positive and significant correlation between psychological health and total emotional intelligence scores was found. The existence of low-level significant relationships was also shown.
