Abstract (EN)
Evaluation of Indoor Air Quality and the Health Effects on Employees in Some Business in Adana WHO have examined many risk factors that impact the global burden of disease and has revealed that indoor pollution is responsible for 2.7% of the global burden of disease from that ranking eighth reason. Besides the effects of ambient air quality in terms of healthy environmental health effects of indoor air is also important. Therefore Indoor Air Quality-IAQ, should be considered in more detail and health effects should be investigated. Indoor air pollutants and health effects, in terms of the long time spent in the workplace affected people's lives outside of housing is very important. This study aimed to evaluate the IAQ measurement and IAQ's evaluation of the impact on the health of the employees in three different lines of business in Adana. Indoor air quality measurements and surveys in production and administrative departments in three different businesses in AOSB were carried out between 10.15.2014-07.15.2015 to determine the health status of workers in this sections. The most important gases that affect the quality of the internal environment, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, PID and oxygen measurements were made. This study was a descriptive study. The study is made in 85.9% of men in the organized industrial zone in Adana as total of 198 employees. The youngest employee is 20 years old and the oldest is 63 years old with a mean age of 31.17 ± 6.92. 33.8% of them are high school graduates and 60.6% are married. 29.8% of respondents in the study are 0-12 months or 4-6 years working in the same workplace, and 88.4% are working in the manufacturing field. Workers are working for at least eight hours a day indoors. 88.4% of these workers reported using personal protective equipment. 9.1% of workers suffered a work accident. 58.8% of these accident was found to be cutter injury. In measurements carried out in our study, the concentration of O2 was found not to exceed the limit values specified in the EPA. CO gas value in the manufacturing part of the business, were measured the amount of exposure of less than 9 ppm eight-hour limit value (0-9ppm), which is determined by EPA and WHO. In all three enterprises in our research, indoor air quality evaluated for H2S, SO2 and measurement of the PID is found not to exceed the EPA limits. The most important issue in the prevention of indoor air pollution is to increase public awareness. Compliance with international standards in the construction, is an important step in the prevention of indoor air pollution. Mainly forenterprises with inadequate ventilation systems and working conditions, continuous planned epidemiological studies and regular measurement is necessary.
