Özet (EN)
In this study, evaluates the knowledge of occupational health and safety among workers that are employed in textile garment factories in Adana. And whether or not if they acknowledge their health regulations as workers. Even tough the percentage of fatal accidents in textile factories are lower than the other fields, textile industry has the 4th place for fatal accidents after construction and mining industry. The reason for this research to be in textile industry is ; because of the numbers of accidents and also, the social demographic difference that textile workers have in this industry. We have applied evaluation in person with textile workers and used the "likert method". SPSS computer analogy program has been utilized to analyze the resultsof this evaluation. The questions of the evaluation have been prepared to measure the knowledge and understanding of both employer and the employees on the sicknesses that are caused by being a textile worker. We have come up with various answers to the evaluation questions due to the different social demographic types and different educational levels in workers. After reviewing the entire results of the evaluation, the results show that the workers and employers don't have enough knowledge on the most important subject in their professional life, which is; occupational health and safety. In conclusion, it has been clearly found as a thesis statement that; occupational health and safety should not be only acknowledged as regulations and laws but also, it should be known as a cultural value to be obtained. The fastest and the best way for this value to be obtained by the textile employees, is to educate the workers by seminars and educational organizations throughout the city.
