Within the framework of the right to a fair trial right to be tried within reasonable time in Turkish law

This study is the most important element of the right to a fair trial and the right to be tried within a reasonable period of time in Turkish Law regulated in the European Convention on Human Rights has been evaluated. The purpose of the trial in a reasonable time is to prevent the proceedings from taking too long. The regulation in the European Convention on Human Rights emphasizes the importance of justice without delay in order to maintain the effectiveness of justice and the trust in justice. In the first part of my study, the right to a fair trial is discussed in general terms and the place and importance of reasonable time in a fair trial is mentioned. In the second part, the reasonable time and the violation of reasonable time are dealt with under Turkish Law and in the light of Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights. The third section focuses on the violation of the right to a fair trial and the measures necessary to eliminate the violation. In this context, the criteria for the assessment of reasonable time at the European Court of Human Rights were examined and court decisions on the violation of reasonable time were examined.
