Isotherm, kinetic and thermodynamic analysis of heavy metal ion's adsorption on natural clay minerals (Diyarbakir/Kulp)

Abstract (EN)

Naturel clay was used to remove Cu(II) and Ni(II) ions from the aqueous solution. Temperature, concentration are the factors affecting adsorption, pH, kinetic parameters such as contact time were studied. Experimental data Temkin, Dubinin-Radushkevich, Freundlich and Langmuir adsorption isotherms were adapted. It was observed that the experimental data were more in line with the Langmuir adsorption isotherm model. Adsorption capacities for 298K, 308K and 318K are respectively 1.79, 0.49, 2.65 mg/g Cu natural clay: 0.72, 0.99, 1.35mg/g Ni natural clay.Kinetic experimental data were adapted to Lagergren, Ho-McKay, Weber-Morris and Elovich kinetic models. it was observed that these data were in accordance with the Ho-McKay second order velocity equation.Thermodynamic data was calculated. For Cu(II) ΔHo=55,35 k j/mol, ΔSo=0,245 k j/mol ve ΔG298=- 17,66 kj/mol, ΔG308= -20,11 kj/mol, ΔG318= -22,56kj/mol, For Ni(II), ΔHo=83,43 k j/mol, ΔSo=0,32 k j/mol ve ΔG298= -12,23kj/mol, ΔG308= -15,44 kj/mol, ΔG318=-18,65 kj/mol was calculated.
