The relatonship between perceived social support and life satisfaction in adolescents wihout family integrity

This study examined the relationship between perceived social support levels from family, teachers and friends, and life satisfaction levels in adolescents without family integrity. The study group of the research consists of 115 adolescents who are attending high school in the district of Iskenderun in Hatay, in the 9.10.11 and 12th grades, with 57 divorces, 36 separate lives and 22 deaths with no family integrity. Life Satisfaction Scale (LDS) (Diener, 1985), Perceived Social Support Scale (Yıldırım, 1997) and Personal Information Form were used to collect data in the study. In this context, t-test and one-way analysis of variance in independent samples from parametric tests, Kruskall-Wallis H Test and Mann-Whitney U Test, which are non-parametric tests, to compare participants' life satisfaction and perceived social support levels according to demographic variables, and the relationship between life satisfaction and perceived social support. Pearson product-moment correlation analysis was used to examine the relationship, and multiple linear regression analysis was performed to examine the role of perceived social support on life satisfaction. The results of the study showed that there was no significant relationship between gender, age, mother and father education status, mother's employment status, perceived social support and life satisfaction of the adolescents without family integrity, while father's employment status and income level and life satisfaction and perceived family disintegration. There is a significant relationship between social support and social support. A positive and significant relationship was found between the perceived social support level and life satisfaction of adolescents without family integrity. The role of perceived social support on life satisfaction is statistically significant and 42% of the variability in life satisfaction is explained by perceived social support.
