Abstract (EN)

This study was planned as a descriptive study to determine the effect of metabolic status of lung cancer patients on immune system. The study was carried out with 57 patients who were diagnosed with lung cancer at the university hospital in the province of Tekirdag between May 2017 and February 2018. Data were obtained by using the Patient Diagnosis Form, Anthropometric Measurements, Nutritional Screening-2002 (NRS-2002) Screening Tool and biochemical markers, flow cytometry from the patient file. Percentage, mean, Mann Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis, ANOVA, - square, used. He mean age of the patients was 61.3 ± 7.95 years and 75.4% of the patients were male. 71.9% of the patients had involuntary weight loss. The average weight loss in the last three months was 3,47 ± 5,03 kg, the average weight loss in the last six months was 3,63 ± 5,79 kg, and the appetite of 12,3% was bad. 8,8% of the patients had BMI less than 20 kg / m². The mean score of NRS 2002 was 2.35 ± 1.12 and 45.6% had malnutrition risk. Male gender, presence of succinate type lung cancer, lack of social security, and daily consumption of meat fish were found to be more effective and higher in IgG levels (p˂0,05). In addition, patients without social security had more weight loss in the last six months, and BMI and arm circumference were lower (p ˂0,05). NRS 2002 score was significantly higher in patients with poor appetite (p˂0,05); it was found that those who consume vegetables / fruits daily had an influence on the level of albumin and lymphocyte subtypes T helper (cd3 / cd4), T cytotoxic (cd3 / cd8), natural killer lymphocytes (cd3- / cd56) (peten0.05); It has been found that the weight loss of the meat / fish consumed every day makes a significant difference in the weight loss in the last three months and the weight loss is less (p˂0,05). It was seen that the number of chemotherapy affected the first and second measurements of the left hand with the second measurement of the right hand (p˂0,05). Keys words: Cancer, lung cancer, immune system, malnutrition.
