Abstract (EN)

According to present resources, Alî bin Ishâk was one of the doctors of Murat II. period, and he has written a book which named Kitâb fî 'İlmi'l-Bâh. The book is written in bahname type and dedicated to Sultan Murat II. As far as is known, this work is the first produced work written in bahname kind in Old Oghuz Turkish. Therefore, the work draws attention to it concerning being first in the field. There are two known copies of the work. The study prepared as a master thesis has been examined in terms of the vocabulary. The study focused on the copy of Institue of Cerrahpaşa Medicine History. This text is one of two known copies of Alî bin Ishâk's work. This study consists of four parts; first is the introduction, second is the analysis of vocabulary, third is the text, and fourth is the glossary. In the first section of the study was examined topics such as main purpose and method of the study, bahnames, about the author and reasons for writing his book, euphemisms and traces of folk medicine. In the second section, vocabulary of the text has been examined as with index and in the context of specific topics. The most remarkable aspect of the examination is that some elements of the vocabulary are examined thematically. In the third section, Turkish text which was written with Arabic script translated to Latin. In the last section, the meanings of the words in the text are given. When making definitions of the words, try to pay attention to the meaning of the word in the text as much as possible.
