Abstract (EN)

Word formation is an important field of grammar. This field studies how words are derived. Examining the word formation in Old Uyghur, which is one of the oldest periods of Turkic, will also contribute to the studies of etymology. Altun Yaruk is the most important work of the Uyghur period, as it is composed of eighty percent Turkic words. In this thesis titled as Altun Yaruk'ta Söz Yapımı (=Word Formation in Altun Yaruk), the derivation system of Turkic words has been examined. The analysis of Altun Yaruk in terms of word derivation will also be the basis for the etymological dictionary of Uyghur. Because, the science of etymology examines for foreign words where that word comes from and for Turkic words how it is derived. This study consists of eight parts as "Introduction", "Denominal Noun Formation Suffixes", "Denominal Verb Formation Suffixes", "Deverbal Noun Formation Suffixes", "Deverbal Verb Formation Suffixes", "Petrified Suffixes", "Compounding of Words", "Conclusion" and "Index" Keywords: Old Uyghur, Altun Yaruk, Word Formation, Derivational Suffixes
