The concept of justice in Anatolian tales

This study was conducted to examine how the concept of justice is covered in Anatolian tales. The reflections of the concept of justice in Anatolian tales, its categories, the search for the opposition of justice and injustice constitute the focus of the study. In this study, which is the first research in the field, content analysis was preferred among the qualitative research methods, and the selected tales were examined with the implicit coding technique. The tales chosen to be examined were preferred among the ones that compiled from Anatolia by scientific methods. As a result of analyzing 131 fairy tales which have justice element among 428 fairy tales; it has been observed that the general belief in fairy tales 'the good wins' and 'the bad loses' is not an absolute truth, and there is also injustice. In Anatolian tales; there are three different types of justice; divine justice, justice by people and justice by state. it was determined that injustice had enough samples to form a separate theme. As the themes are ranked according to their intensity, divine justice, justice by people, injustice and justice by state are obtained. Each of every themes corresponds to the society and its ranking reflects the view of society about justice. The ordering of the themes shows that the expectation of justice in society is from a divine power, firstly. Justice by state's being at the end the list was taken as a sign that people see the judiciary as the last authority as a distributor of justice.
