Comparison of field and laboratory tests used in determining anaerobic capacity

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to examine the effects of field and laboratory tests on anaerobic performance development in football players. A total of 24 amateur football players, 12 male and 12 female, with a mean age of 22.58±1.87, participated in the study voluntarily. On the first day of the measurement, anthropometric measurements and pre-training were applied to the athletes. After the anthropometric measurements and pre-training application were completed, the athletes participated in the tests with an interval of 72 hours. On the second day of the measurement, the non-motorized treadmill test was applied to the athletes and the anaerobic capacities of the athletes were determined. On the 3rd day of the measurement, Wingate anaerobic power test was applied to the athletes and their anaerobic capacity was determined. On the 4th day of the measurement, Rast test and Pediatric Rast test were applied to the athletes and their anaerobic capacity was determined. Statistical analyzes obtained after the applied measurements were applied using the SPSS 22.0 software package program. Mean and standard deviation values were calculated for all variables. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was applied to determine the differences in the repeated measurements of the participants. Pearson Correlation Analysis was used to determine how much correlation between Wingate results and other protocol results. Confidence interval was accepted at p< 0.5 for all statistical procedures. As a result of the analysis, the peak power, average power and fatigue index values of the participants were determined for each test. Resting heart rate, maximum strength, peak power, average power and fatigue index values obtained from WAnT, RaST, P.RaST and NMT of the participants participating in the study were significantly different (p < 0.00). WAnT peak power, mean power and fatigue index values were statistically significantly higher than RaST, P.RaST and NMT (respectively; F=19.696; F=11.291; F=2129.880 p < 0.05). A statistically positive correlation was found between WAnT, RaST and NMT in mean power output (p < 0.00). A statistically positive correlation was found between WAnT and P.RaST in peak power output and mean power output (p < 0.00). A statistically positive correlation was found between RaST and P.RaST in the fatigue index (p < 0.00). However, a statistically positive correlation was found between WAnT RaST and P.RaST in mean power output (p < 0.00). The most important result of this research; We can say that the non-motorized treadmill test is positively effective compared to other test methods. The most distorting result of this research is; We can say that the non-motorized treadmill test is as effective in testing average strength as other anaerobic test protocols.
