An evaluation of adaptation and behavioral problems at children attending to kindergarten within the framework of teachers? views

This study was carried of to determine the problems of adaptation and behaviorswithin the age group of 5-6 through such variables as age, gender, family type, working statusof parents, father?s occupation, number of children and the adequacy of the education teachershave in these issues, how they improve themselves, with whom they are in cooperation withand what kind of method they follow in solving behavioral problems.?The Scale of Improving Child?s Behavior? and ?Personal Data Form?, whichincludes personal data of children, were used in the study. In the analysis of the data gatheredfor 5 ? 6 age group children depending on teacher evaluations, SPSS 12.00 statistical packageprogram was used.The findings obtained are as follows:A significant difference was found between social anxiety, adaptation and rebelliousbehaviors and total score of the scale concerning the ages of the children .There was a significant correlation in terms of the frequency of showing adaptationand behavioral problems at children.A significant difference was found at social anxiety behavior in terms of the relationbetween adaptation and behavioral problems at children and the status of education ofmothers.A significant difference was found at adaptation and rebellious behaviors in terms ofthe status of education of father at children showing adaptation and behavioral problems.A significant correlation was found between rebellious behaviors at children, socialanxiety and total scores of the scale and the status of labor of the father.Keywords: Behavioral and Adaptation Problems, Preschool Education
