Abstract (EN)

Animation is in rapid development and transformation in parallel with technology. Animation process, which is limited to simple metamorphosis in primitive animation examples, has become multilayered and complex in today's animation. This multi-layered and complex structure in the animation process has revealed the need to design the impulses, emotions and thoughts that are the source of the movement at the center of the character animation and to transfer it to the movement patterns. In this context, traditional animation production techniques are limited and need to be developed. Laban Movement Analysis (LMA) method, which is one of the studies in this field, provides a comprehensive method to animation artists to make motion analysis, to design inner world of animation character and to relate between designed inner world and motion patterns. From this point of view, in this study, the use of LMA method in design of acting/performance in animation cinema was investigated and its contributions to acting performance and its limitations, if any, were studied.
