Abstract (EN)

This research aims to examine the relationship between parents' marital conflicts and their adolescent children's peer relationships and school adjustment. Relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. The sample consists of 315 girls studying in the central district of Isparta province in the 2022-2023 academic year; 315 of them are male, 9th, 10th and 11th grade high school students. Peer Relationship Scale, Children's Perception of Marital Conflict Scale, School Adjustment Scale and Personal Information Form were used to collect data. The relationships between the variables of the study were examined with the Pearson Correlation Coefficient. One-Way Anova and T-test analyzes were used to determine whether these variables differed according to demographic variables. Analysis of mediation was carried out with Amos. There was a positive significant difference between the total scores on school adjustment and total scores on peer relationships; negative significant difference between children's total scores of perception of marital conflict and total scores of school adjustment; It has been determined that there is a negative significant relationship between the total scores of peer relationships and the total scores of children's perception of marital conflict. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the Peer Relationship Scale and "togetherness" sub-dimension scores of men were higher than women. It was observed that the Peer Relationship Scale total scores of 16-year-old students were higher than those of 14- and 15-year-old students. It was determined that the students' total scores and sub-dimension scores of the "Children's Perception of Marital Conflict Scale" did not differ significantly according to gender. It was determined that the total scores of 16-year-old students on the scale of children's perception of marital conflict were significantly higher than those of 14-year-old students. It was determined that the scores of the students who participated in the study from the school adjustment scale showed a significant difference according to gender. It has been revealed that the scores of male students are higher than that of female students. It was found that the total scores of the 16-year-old students on the school adjustment scale were higher than the 15-year-old students. According to the results of the mediation effect, it was determined that peer relations were a fully effective mediator variable between children's perception of marital conflict and school adjustment.
