Comparison high school students' level of emotional intelligence, happiness and social anxient in aspects of mothers' educational and working status

The effect of environment on emotional intelligence is associated with different kinds of parameter. The importance of role of the mother in the development of a child's emotional intelligence also is the extent that cannot be denied. This study was conducted to measure the level of happiness and social anxiety of students who are studying in the high school, while measuring also emotional intelligence. The most important issue in this study was the fact that the mothers of the students who participated in this questionnaire are working or not, and this was the way of understanding of the relationship between the child's emotional intelligence, happiness and socially anxiety and the relationship between these variables. For this purpose, in this study which was used descriptive survey model, 311 students was selected from 9th, 10th and 11th grades studying in the upper secondary schools which have different level of achievement from Nazilli district of Aydın province and 5 students from out of the district as the sample. In this study, it was used 4 different assessment instruments having been frequently used in the literature. Those are, The Oxford Happiness Questionnaire Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale Social Anxiety Scale for Adolescents and Revised Personal Information Form. According to the statistical findings, it was found that female students got only higher scores for emotional intelligence analysis in aspect of gender but there is not significant difference found in happiness and social anxiety levels. When the average of emotional intelligence scores of the students according to the school variable, Emotional intelligence score is the highest in Fen High School students and the lowest in Ticaret High School students. When we look at the happiness level scores according to the School variable, it is seen that the highest point average is in Anadolu High School students. There is no significant difference between the social anxiety scores of the students in different high schools. Key Words: Emotional Intelligence, Happiness, Social Anxiety
