Analysis of cost and profit in the clove producers in the Antalya province

Abstract (EN)

The cut flower is used especially for the spiritualy important days. The cut flower is used as an ornamental in homes and for landscaping in cities. Europe is the greatest continent in cut flowers. Within the cut flower production species and the clove has a large share, in the domestic production for the domestic market as well as for the foreign market. In this study gathered the general information on clove producers, on technical characteristics of the plant's production, the production costs of the enterprises, on land reclamation assets, on the ownership status of the production land, on the workers working in the business, on the availability of machine and instrument for the producers, on the production costs of the clove, the seedling production conditions, the input amounts used in the production stage and the payment conditions of the input costs, the marketing of the clove and as well as gross profit and net profit. Consequently, a face-to-face survey has been conducted to collected primary data from clove producers who only produce carnation Antalya province. The results revealed that a clove enterprise has a clove gross profit 849093 TL/da, and reaches a profit of 39412 TL/da and gross production value 26811 TL/da. Lastly from the found results we can conclude that the clove production in the province of Antalya is a profitable sector.
