Abstract (EN)
This study, is aimed at determining information sources and status of advisory and consultancy services in pomegranate farmers and to discuss tools to increase efficiency of advisory services and present recommendations in this regard. The main material of the study is primary data that was collected by conducting interviews with 98 respondents selected with stratified random sampling method in year 2016. Meanage of the farmers was 49.7 years and mean farming experience was 9.5 years in the study area. In the study area, 43.4% of total farmerss old pomegranate at 0.15-0.30 TL/kg, 33.7% at 0.31-0.60 TL/kg. Research findings reveal that in the study area, farmers mainly rely on their own farming experience or other farmers experience as an information sources, for information related to pestattack pesticide dealers and district agricultual direct or a tesareused as information source. No one was found to be working with private agricultural advisor nor anyone is willing to work. An important finding of the study is that traditinal sources of information are stil used as an important source of information particularly in technical issues.
