Abstract (EN)

Altars which were built to satisfy and to make themselves heard for their gods and goddess by people who live in ancient times,are one of the most important factors which help to us in order to understand their bliefs.Especially ,this process which was progressed in Greek and Rome society indicates that a lot of different types of altars came up.Rituals which have continued for centuries have also a vital role in developing architectural tradition.While Greeks was fulfilling their tasks toward their gods and goddess in the altars they built,this situation changed in Romans.Emperor cult places which emerged especially during the Roman imperial period,also show the attitude of the Romans towards the emperors. Altars which was built by Greeks,are mostly on the behalf of the Olympus gods.Even though Olympus gods do not encompass the whole world of deific, it is known that they constitute its important part.They account for important parts of cult life's those who live in Greek cities.Especially with the narratives of Homeros and Hesiodos,it is possible us to better understand the Olympian gods and the family structure. İf we look at the altars built by romans,we see many altars built both for gods sake and emperors sake.The cult places of the emperors that appeard in the Roman period show us the relationship between the emperors and the gods.This situation brought the developments on the altars to a different dimension.With these new developments,the qualities of the presentations have changed and altars have begun to be made in different forms.This brings us to the altars which have different functions and plans.İn this study ,the beliefs in Greek and Roman societies by examining comtemproary sources along with ancient sources,presentation concepts that develop with these beliefs and in parallel with these, there was a study on the study of the altars made built in Anatolian lands.
