Abstract (EN)

Human being has been in a mutual interaction with nature from the beginning up to now. With regard to some people have pointed out that this interaction is modern society's subject as a debate in two issues; humans take the first one in the history of the struggle against nature, and the second one is searching wholeness and coherence between nature and humanity. However, mainly this opinion displays the reality of modern society's eagerness to command the environment and seeing nature as a saver from the difficulties of the situation, which people are struggling for it. At this point, the Deep Ecology Movement, which is called as a philosophy of environmental ethics that distances itself from Shallow Ecology, has emerged in the state of rapid industrialization and technology in modern societies to show human beings who almost acknowledge themselves as being the owner of nature is not valid. One of the purposes of this thesis is to reveal the fact as Norwegian philosopher Arne Naess has explained in Deep Ecology Movement, human beings are not superior to nature and nature is not human-centered but in reality, is nature-centered. Furthermore, the other purpose of the thesis is to display the reflections the fact that human beings are part of nature, in other words, human beings are more holistic and demonstrate the significance of giving honor to the integrity of each being, in the trilogy of Yaşar Kemal's An Island Story; Look, The Euphrates is Flowing Blood, Ant's Drinking Water and The Cocks of Dawn in Rachel Carson's Silent Spring and Under the Sea Wind books.
