Abstract (EN)

This research aims to examine the effects of augmented reality-based applications on students' academic achievement, attitude towards the course and level of fun in the Life Science course. Within the scope of the research, four third grade students in two different schools were determined as samples among the third grade primary school students studying in Siirt city center. The implementation process of the research lasted 10 weeks. A quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group was used in the research. This pattern enabled the students to control their achievement, attitude and fun levels. In the research, the scales named Life Science Lesson Achievement Test, Life Science Lesson Attitude Scale and Life Science Lesson Level of Fun Determination Scale were used. These scales were prepared to answer the basic questions of the research by measuring students' achievements, attitudes and fun levels. The data of the research were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 (Statistics Program for Social Sciences). As a result of the research, it was seen that augmented reality applications did not make a significant difference on the academic achievement and attitudes of the students. However, it was determined that the augmented reality applications showed a significant difference in the fun levels of the students in favor of the experimental group. These results will contribute to a better understanding of the role of augmented reality technology in education. According to the results of the research, it is thought that augmented reality technology can help to present the teaching materials more effectively and increase the productivity of the students towards the life studies course. In addition, it is seen that augmented reality technology can increase students' interest in lessons and make the learning process more enjoyable. The results of this research are important in terms of its contribution to a better understanding of the role of augmented reality technology in education.
