Özet (EN)
Damages due to insufficient detailing and faults in practice during the construction of reinforced concrete buildings and elements, which constitute an important part of the building stock in our country, have been reported in previous earthquakes. Numerical modeling studies conducted to calculate the performance of existing buildings under earthquake effects remain up to date. The purpose of performance-based evaluation is to compare the strength and deformation demands of earthquakes with non-linear static or dynamic analysis and the capacity of the building at the relevant performance levels. The performance of a building is decided by comparing the obtained capacity with the predetermined demand. This assessment is based on important performance parameters, such as inter-storey drift ratios, inelastic element deformations, and shear forces occurring at joints. In this study, non-linear static and dynamic analysis of a 4-storey existing reinforced concrete building designed according to the 2007 Earthquake Code were carried out with SeismoStruct software. The performance assessment of buildings was performed according to Turkey Earthquake Code (TBDY-18) and ASCE 41-17. Strong ground motion records in the time domain analysis were scaled with the SeismoMatch software to make spectral agreement considering the target design spectrum. Nonlinear behavior in column and beam elements is defined by frame elements based on distributed plasticity. Within the scope of the study, the maximum cross-sectional rotations of the column and beam elements and the strains were determined and compared with the deformation-based limits in (TBDY-18) and ASCE 41-17 codes. Different methods and parameters which the codes consider has been investigated in this study.
