Özet (EN)

The world is looking for more effective wastewater treatment methods in terms of quality and energy efficiency. Superconductor technology is a prominent candidate which may serve the purpose. In this research, long MgB2 superconductor wires and tapes will be produced using many processes such as drawing, groove rolling and continuous heat treatment to reduce the wire diameter while lengthening. Production of magnetic fields using superconducting wires has a couple of aspects. When the superconducting state with zero resistance is obtained by cryocooling, superconducting wires do not produce resistive heat as long as their critical current value is not exceeded. The only energy loss, in that case, is the energy expenditure for keeping the complete magnet cold. The energy expenditure for cryocooling can be kept low by effective thermal insulation and MgB2 is advantageous in this respect since it can be used at 20 – 25 K temperatures despite the necessity of liquid helium for conventional superconductors. A prototype solenoid coil will be designed and wound on copper former using the MgB2 wires produced within this work. Electrothermal heat treatment will be applied to this coil under flowing argon or argon pressure. This coil will be tested in a cryostat to determine its performance parameters. The final part of this research is planned to explore the possible usage of high magnetic field superconducting coils in wastewater treatment.
