Abstract (EN)

Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometrei (FAAS) is a frequently used method for detection of metals. In the recent years atom trapping have been developed to increase sensitivy of FAAS technique. Previously detection limit for FAAS technique was mg/mL level this was reduced to ng/mL level by using atom trappings. Slotted of Quatrz Tube (SQT) is one of these atom trappings. In the present study, a sensitive method was developed by using SQT for determination of lead by FAAS method. Thus SQT was used in three different manners. Fist, it was aimed to increase stay time of lead atoms in the measuremants region, and thus sentivity was increased 11 times. Second, having collected lead on the surface of SQT, atomization was accelarated by spraying methyl isobüthlyketone (MIBK) into the medium. In the third one, iner surface of SQT was coated by several metals. The highest increase in sentivity was obtained by thiş method., Mo coated SQT was used in this method. Accuracy of the system was checked 1643 National-Instute of Standart & Technology standart referance material. As an application, drinking waters saled for tradial purpose at markets in Diyarbakır province. Analysis results werw compared with thos allowed in World Health Organization (WHO) 1999, European Union (EC) 1998 and Turkish Standarts Institute (TSE) 266/2005 regulations. No lead concentration in any mark was higher than those allowed ones.Key words: Lead, lead pollution, drinking water, atomic absorption spectrometer, slotted of quartz tube.
