A Research On The Phenotipic Chracterization Of ?YamalakSarısı? Domestic Variety Cultivating In Aydın ProvinceHülya KAYASUMMARYThis study was carried out on Yamalak Sarısı, local cultivar of Kuyucak townin Aydın province in the years of 2004-2005. It was aimed to determine the identityinformation and morphological and physiological characteristics of the cultivar bythis study . The criteria included in ?World Catalogue of Olive Varieties 2000?,prepared by International Olive Oil Council (IOOC), that is used by the other olivegrowing countries, were taken into consideration in charecterizing the cultivar.With this aim, identity information; morphological characteristics relating totree, leaf, infloresence, fruit and stone characteristics, such as productivity, alternatebearing, oil yield, separation of flesh from stone, rooting capacity, blossommingperiod, fertilization biology, fruit ripening period and sensitivity against biotic andabiotic conditions have been investigated in detail.Yamalak Sarısı is also called as ?Yamalak Kabası?, ?Kaba? and ?Kaba ağaç?in its growing area and utilized for green table olive processing.It has a strong growth habit and spreading canopy with medium dense. It haslong and lanceolate shaped leaves. Its inflorosence is short and the number of flowersper inflorosence 14.46 on average so it enters into the group with low amount offlowers . The cultivar is included into the very high group with fruit weight of 8.27 gand there isn?t any point on the tip of ıts stone.Yamalak Sarısı has 59.08 kg fruit production as the average of ?on? and ?off?years and takes its place in the high productive group. It is within low oily groupwith 17.45% oil rate based on fresh sample. Its rooting capacity reaches upto 45%. Ithas been determined that Yamalak Sarısı was a partially self-compatible cultivar. Itsblossomming and fruit ripening have occurred in the early seasons.
