Azerbaijan's religious relations with Ottoman, Russia and Iran (XIX century)

Azerbaijan Turks experienced significant political and religious changes in the 19th century. In this period, the domination of the Tsarist Russia in the Azerbaijani lands, the processes of Christianization of the Muslim Turks, influenced Azerbaijan in all areas. The obvious example of this influence is in the religious sphere. In this process, Azerbaijan was in relations with the Ottoman Empire and Iran, together with Tsarist Russia. Religious relations are at the top of these hypotheses. In spite of all kinds of practices in the name of religion, the people of Azerbaijan struggled to claim their spirituality. Although there were big crises in the Ottoman Empire during this period, it tried to intervene against Tsarist Russia, and Tsarist Russia tried to keep the people from the influence of the Ottoman Empire and Iran in Azerbaijan. In this study, we discussed the religious relations of Azerbaijan with Ottoman Empire, Tsarist Russia and Iran. In addition to giving information about the general religious status of Azerbaijan, religious education and religious officials of the period, it was tried to clarify the religious relations of Azerbaijan with Ottoman Empire, Iran and Tsarist Russia in this century.
