Özet (EN)
Within the scope of the study, it was aimed to investigate the usability of bamboo fiber as an alternative to synthetic (polyester, polyamide, etc.) and regenerated cellulosic (viscose, etc.) fibers used as a mixture with natural fibers (cotton, wool, linen, silk, etc.) in suit fabrics. For this purpose, basic performance properties (strength, softness, fastness, air permeability, etc.) of bamboo/elastane, viscose/wool/elastane, bamboo/wool/elastane and pes/wool/elastane blended fabrics with the same construction were compared. According to the data obtained, it was concluded that the selected performance properties of the fabrics in which bamboo fiber is used alone or in a mixture with wool are similar to those of classical suit fabrics, and the use of bamboo does not cause any negative situation. In other words, it has been determined that bamboo fiber can be used in suit fabrics. Keywords: Bamboo fiber, Suiting fabric, Fabric performance properties, Sustainability, Chemical fiber
