Abstract (EN)

Saddle mounts have taken part in social life actively as primary elements of community life. This has been their cumstance since the day people domesticated their saddlemounts. As poetsarepart of thecommunity, they have included this social life element in their poems. This study is made up of 16 divan and 1 mesnevi composed in the18th century. Materials about mounts were identified in printed divan andin mesnevi texts that are still in the making. It was observed that materials and elements about mounts, identified with reference to the 18th century poetry texts, followed different tracks. It was established that poets of that period mainly used horse, which was utilized as a living mount, and concepts regarding horses. It was viewed that mounts in poems were rather appreciated since they were vehicles that the beloved ones used. It was also identified that, apart from their usage by the be love dones, mounts were utilized as an element of battle. The common composition and simile usage with regard to the concepts of mounts indicated that these concepts were put to use so many times as to create a common usage. Mounts in analyzed poems were used in the context of a vehicle that the belove dones used and of associating this vehicle with the belove dones. On the other hand, mounts were also approached as a battle vehicle by poets in their poems.Some poets were observed to have applied the beloved's attributes to mounts.
