The Determination of yield and yield components of some durum wheat cultivars and reactions to black point and rust diseases

VI THE DETERMINATION OF YIELD AND YIELD COMPONENTS OF SOME DURUM WHEAT CULTIVARS AND REACTIONS TO BLACK POINT AND RUST DISEASES Nafiz SÖNMEZ 2002 / 44 pages SUMMARY This study was carried out to determine yield and yield components of some durum wheat cultivars and reactions to black point and rust diseases in 2000/2001 growing season in Diyarbakır conditions. 20 durum wheat cultivars were used in the trail. The trail was designed as a randomized complete blocks design with three replications. Statistically significant differences were observed all the characters of cultivars. The highest and the lowest plot yield were obtained from Ceylan 95 (331.3 g) and Kunduru 1 149 (143.0 g) respectively. Kunduru 1149 was the latest (152.7 date) and Svevo was the earliest (135.3 date) cultivar. The highest black point disease rate was obtained from Mısırı (% 7.607). Selçuk 97, İonio, Svevo, Zenit, Kızıltan 91, Çukurova 1252, Kunduru 1149 and İskenderiye were not affected by this disease. Rust disease index were changed between 0.550 and 3.933. The highest and the lowest values for rust disease index were obtained from Selçuk 97 and Diyarbakır 81 respectively. Alternaria sp.j Fusarium sp., Cladosporium sp., Stephiylum sp. and Helminthosporium sp. fungi were isolated from isolation of the grain which effected by black point disease.
