Abstract (EN)

In this study, the main component of the sentence, the verb conjugated by the agent tried to be identified, the verb and agent relationship, which has great importance on applied linguistics for both native and foreign language teaching, emphasised. The rarity on the study of the verb-agent relationship has led our work to emerge. The study focuses on Lusien Tesnière's theory of dependency grammar. However, the research was limited with one book due to time limitation. The work examines the story of "Harran" by Bekir Yıldız. Inroduction part consists of information about the study, purpose of the study, the features of the book and the writer, the method used throughtout the study. Second part concerns the hypothetical evaluation, generally Lusian Tesnière is introduced, features of his theory are referred and verb-agent studies in Turkish language are considered. In the examination and disovery section of the research sentences from the resource are analysed, agents that are conjugated from the verbs are listed using the tree diagrams method from dependence linguistic hypothesis. That verbs are compared with the verbs and their agents in Turkish dictionary 2011 and Çağdaş Türkiye Türkçesindeki Fiillerin Durum Ekli Tamlayıcıları by Tahir Kahraman. In the conclusion chapter of the thesis, a documantion about the choice of verbs and their agents associated with these verbs are presented.
