This study was conducted as a randomized controlled experimental study to evaluate the effect of yoga on pain level and functional disabilities in nurses. The research was carried out with 91 intensive care nurses who met the working criteria in the intensive care units of Mersin City Training and Research Hospital. Ethics committee approval, institutional permissions and informed consent of the participants were obtained before the study could be conducted. The data of the study were collected using a descriptive questionnaire prepared by the researcher, Mcgill Melzack Pain Questionnaire (MASF), and Oswestry Functional Disability Scale. In the evaluation of the data; descriptive statistics, independent sample t test, t test, chi-square and fisher exact tests were used, p<0.05 value was considered statistically significant in the study. 89.0% of the nurses were female, the mean age was 31.13±5.29 in the intervention group, 32.27±6.42 in the control group, 57.1% were single, 96.7% had a bachelor's degree or higher, 52.7% had an income equal to or more than their expenses, 72.5%' It was determined that he lived with his family. It was determined that 84.6% of the nurses had not received any treatment for low back pain before and 50.5% of them did not exercise. A statistically significant decrease was found in all sub-dimensions of the MASF scale at the last follow-up of the nurses in the intervention group participating in the study compared to the first follow-up (p<0.001). A significant decrease was found in the Oswestry scale last follow-up mean scores of the nurses in the intervention group (p<0.001). As a result; four weeks of regular yoga practice reduced pain and functional disabilities in nurses experiencing low back pain (p<0.001).
