The purpose of this study is to examine whether psychological resilience has a mediating role in the relationship between adolescents' five-factor personality traits, purposes of using social networks, psychological resilience, and adolescents' five-factor personality traits and purpose of using social networks. The study population of the research consisted of 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade students between the ages of 11 and 18. The sample, consisting of a total of 700 students, 396 girls and 304 boys, was determined by stratified and random sampling method among public schools such as Anatolian high schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, located within the borders of Çukurova district of Adana province. In the study, data regarding some personal information of the students were obtained using the "Personal Information Form", "Five Factor Personality Scale", "Adolescent Psychological Resilience Scale" and "Purposes of Using Social Networks Scale" prepared by the researcher. The data collected in the study was analyzed based on the results of Pearson Product Moment Correlation to understand the relationship between variables. Various regression and multiple regression analyzes were carried out to determine whether five-factor personality traits and psychological resilience predict the purpose of using social networks and the mediating effect of psychological resilience on the relationship between five-factor personality traits and the purpose of using social networks. The significance of the change in regression coefficients indicating the existence of a mediating effect was examined using the bootstrapping method. In the research; Positive significant relationships were found between "Extraversion" and the "Collaboration", "Communication", "Content Sharing" and "Entertainment" purposes of social networks. Positive significant relationships were found between "Compatibility" and the "Research" and "Collaboration" purposes of social networks. A positive significant relationship was found between "Responsibility" and the "Research" and "Collaboration" purposes of social networks, and a negative significant relationship was found between the "Initiating Communication", "Maintaining Communication" and "Entertainment" purposes. Negatively significant relationships were found between "Neuroticism" and the "Research" and "Collaboration" purposes of social networks, and positive significant relationships were found between the "Initiating Communication", "Establishing Communication", "Maintaining Communication", "Sharing Content" and "Entertainment" purposes. . Positive significant relationships were found between "Openness to Experience" and the purposes of social networks for research, "Collaboration", "Initiating Communication", "Establishing Communication", "Maintaining Communication" and "Sharing Content". Significant positive relationships were found between psychological resilience and the extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness and openness to experience dimensions, and negative significant relationships were found between psychological resilience and the neuroticism dimension. Significant positive relationships were found between psychological resilience and the purposes of "Research", "Collaboration" and "Sharing Content" of social networks, and negatively between the purposes of "Initiating Communication" and "Entertainment". As a result of the analyses, it was found that psychological resilience had a mediating role between extraversion, one of the five factor personality traits sub-dimensions, and the cooperation purpose of social networks. It has been found that psychological resilience has a mediating role between openness to experience and the cooperative purpose of social networks. It has been found that psychological resilience has a mediating role between neuroticism and the content sharing purpose of social networks.
