Proceduralism in computer animation: An application of medical animation

It has been possible today to make animation films in numerous fields by using computer animation techniques growing in parallel with technological developments. One of these fields is medical animation. Being suitable to be vaguely photographed in black and white and without any motion by using an electron microscope on the micro scale, this field can be animated by being elaborately produced by means of computer animation techniques. When analyzed this micro-scaled field with an uneducated eye, it may be considered that it's in a random structure. However, it is known that the infinite repetitions of chemistry and pyhsics laws are the basis of these cases. Moreover, it is evident that the concept of randomness is used limitedly when it comes to computers. Since their operating systems are programmed to calculate certain data, the concept of randomness requires to be built artificially and limitedly. At this point, the procedural computer animation tools become a necessity in terms of reproducing and controlling the mentioned chaotic field in a computer environment. The concept of randomness has been researched as both a scientific value and an artistic perspective in this study. Later, it has been analyzed the procedural animation processes in limiting and controlling this random space to produce content through computer animation. Futhermore, an animation film on the communication mechanism between neurons and on how this mechanism generally works in the presence of an stimulus has been produced by using the procedural animation tools in the application film of the study.
