Abstract (EN)

In our age, the increasing population and requirements have caused the structures to become larger and more complex. Building Information Modeling (BIM), which is being used to overcome these large projects, enables architects, engineers and project team to work together in all building construction processes, minimizing potential errors and problems and providing significant savings in time and cost. The BIM can be used for many purposes such as structural analysis, energy performance, sound and lighting analysis in the planning and design stage. In this study, the use of BIM tools for energy analysis in the design process, which is one of the building construction phases, is evaluated. For this purpose, a sample project was produced with Autodesk Revit 2019 software and then three different building shell models were designed with Autodesk Green Building Studio (GBS). These models differ from each other in terms of thermal conductivity coefficients of roof, wall and window building elements. In alternative 1, U (W/m2K) thermal permeability coefficients recommended for TSE 825 are used for ceilings, walls and windows. Alternative 2 and Alternative 3 include the use of insulating glasses with lower thermal conductivity as well as thicker insulating properties on roofs and walls. Additionally, all the design options are modeled by assuming the P/D (window area / wall area) ratio as 0.40 and 0.30. As a result of the energy analysis, savings up to 15.63 % in total energy consumption, up to 22.94 % in natural gas consumption and up to 9.40% in electricity consumption were achieved. Moreover, by decreasing the P/D ratio, a further decrease of 7.59 % was observed in total energy consumption. It has been concluded that YBM offers many innovative solutions for the construction sector and that the use of YBM provides great benefits in terms of time, cost and labor compared to traditional methods.
