Abstract (EN)

The study was conducted in the application and research area belong to Department of Horticulture Faculty of Agriculture in Dicle University in 2015 autumn vegetation period. In the study, it was aimed to determinate the effect of plant antifreeze and different cultivation systems on yield, some quality features and nutrient contents in lettuce cultivation in Diyarbakır conditions. In the study, Yedikule Bitez lettuce cultivar was used. Plant antifreeze was applied to reduce the negative effects of low temperature on plants. Lettuce cultivation was investigated in 4 different cultivation systems as in the open, mulch, low tunel and mulch-low tunel together with antifreeze application in the trial. During the trial, features such as plant height, plant crown width, perimeter the umbilicus of plant, total number of leaves, plant root length, plant root collar diameter, the average plant weight and yield were examined in plants. Cultivation systems and plant antifreeze have no effect on total plant yield. While the highest total plant yield was obtained from plant antifreeze applied in low tunnels and control mulch cultivation systems (9.3 kg/m2), the lowest total plant efficiency was obtained from control cultivation in low tunel (6.1 kg/m2). As a result of laboratory analysis such as heavy metal and nitrogen/protein in the post-harvest lettuces; elements located in plant antifreeze were seen to increase the amount of minerals (such as Mg, Fe, Zn) which may be useful to the plant and nitrogen/protein in lettuce. In result of the study, it was seen that the applied cultivation systems and plant antifreeze may be beneficial. Thus economically lettuce growing which has short vegetation period, will be possible to disseminate in automn period in Diyarbakır. Key Words: Diyarbakır, Lettuce, Yield, Plant Antifreeze.
