Abstract (EN)

In this research, it was aimed to examine the individual innovativeness levels and categories of biology teachers and to examine them in terms of school type, gender, age, seniority year, education level and daily internet use variables. Survey method was used in the research in quantitative research approaches. The 'Individual Innovative Scale' developed by Hurt, Joseph and Cook (1977) and adapted to Turkish by Kılıçer and Odabaşı (2010) was used as data collection tool in the research. The research was carried out by 58 biology teachers working in state schools affiliated to the Ministry of Education of Diyarbakır Province in the academic year of 2015-2016. Statistical techniques independent sample t-test, frequency, percentage, and One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were utilized in the data analysis. As a result of the research, the majority of the biology teachers in terms of individual innovativeness categories are in the category of 'interrogator'. But it has been determined that the 'pioneer' category has a frequency close to the 'interrogator' category. In the survey, it was revealed that the majority of individual innovation levels are at a high level of innovation. Individual innovativeness scores do not show a significant difference according to school type, gender, age, seniority year and level of education. According to the variable of daily internet use, individual innovativeness scores have reached a meaningful difference.
