Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is to determine the attitudes of divorced and never married individuals towards marriage; The aim of this study is to examine its relationship with variables such as childhood negative experiences, self-esteem, metagochnism, cognitive emotion regulation strategies and perceived stress. For this purpose, the sample of the study consists of 272 individuals living in Istanbul. 75.4% of the participants are women and 24.6% are men. The marital status distribution is 43.4% single and 56.6% divorced. In order to obtain data about the participants, Sociodemographic Information Form, Cognitive Emotion Regulation Scale (CABS), Childhood Negative Experiences Scale (CESS), Metacognition Scale 30 (MCQ-30), Meaning Attributable to Marriage Scale (CIAS), Perceived Stress Scale ( PSS) and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RBSS) were used. The analysis of the data was done with the help of SPSS 22.0 package program. In the study, a significant difference was found between rumination and cognitive awareness values on the basis of the cognitive mood scale between divorced and single participants. In addition, significant differences were found in the dimensions of disability and risk. When the values reached according to the Childhood Adverse Experiences Scale were examined, no significant difference was found between the divorced and single participants.
