The reflection in the Ottoman press on the occupation of Bosnia and Herzegovina by Austria-Hungary Empire

The relationship between Ottoman Empire and Bosnia and Herzegovina dates back a long time period. The purpose of this thesis is to talk about this relationship with geographical justifications and historical inspections, to discourse Ottoman Empire's dominance on Bosnia and Herzegovina and to clarify how these two ruptured their connection. Berlin Agreement shows that Bosnia and Herzegovina will start a new political administration. According to this, the topics that will be underlined are the political and social improvements during the occupation, the opposition that Bosnian people showed and how this occupation effected Bosnian muslims to create their own ethical identities. To be able to handle all these main problems, Tercüman-ı Hakikat, Tercüman-ı Şark, Ceride-i Havadis and Vakit newspapers which were some of the main sources of the Ottoman Empire in the meantime will be our fundamental supports in the thesis. In this news show us what public think generally. With this press organ it will be explained how the Ottoman Empire dealt with the occupation process and how the country protest the phenomenon. Ottoman Empire's press resources will reveal the difficulties that Muslim Bosnian people had to face while the three month occupation period. At the same time, movement of migration happening at this time period will be considered, based on the Ottoman press. The thesis will contribute to analyze the subject according to historical background with the Tercüman-ı Hakikat, Tercüman-ı Şark, Ceride-i Havadis and Vakit newspapers and by following the procession of occupation step by step.
