A research on the flora of Boz Musa Mountain (Korkuteli/Antalya)

Within the scope of the thesis study, plant taxa of Boz Musa Mountain and its immediate surroundings were determined. A large part of Boz Musa Mountain is located in the Northwest of Korkuteli district of Antalya province, and a small part is located in Kemer and Tefenni districts of Burdur province. Between October 2021 and August 2023 748 plant samples were collected in the research area. As a result of the evaluation of these samples, 213 genera and 332 species, 62 subspecies and 10 variety belonging to 56 families were identified. The total number of taxa is 404. Among these 404 taxa identified, 77 are considered endemic. Among the 56 identified families, one belongs to the Pteridophyta (Ferns) division, while the remaining 55 belong to the Magnoliophyta (Seed Plants) division. Among these 55 families, 2 belong to the Pinophytina (Gymnospermas) subdivision, and 53 belong to the Magnoliophytina (Angiosperms) subdivision. Among Magnoliophytina 53 families, 8 belong to the Liliopsida (Monocotyleae) class and 45 of them belong to the Magnoliopsida (Dicotyledons/Dicotylea) class. Among the identified plants, 1 taxon belongs to the Pteridophyta (Ferns) division, and 403 taxa belong to the Magnoliophyta (Seeded Plants) division. Within the Magnoliophyta division, 4 taxa belong to the Pinophytina (Gymnosperms) subdivision, while 399 belong to the Magnoliophytina (Angiosperms) subdivision. Among the Magnoliophytina (Angiosperms) subdivision, 35 belong to the Liliopsida (Monocotyleae) class and 364 belong to the Magnoliopsida class. The 10 families containing the most taxa are Asteraceae (64), Fabaceae (46), Lamiaceae (40), Caryophyllaceae (28), Brassicaceae (23), Boraginaceae (18), Poaceae (16), Rubiaceae (13), Plantaginaceae (12) and Caprifoliaceae (11). The 10 genera containing the highest number of taxa are Centaurea (14), Astragalus (11), Silene (9), Galium (7), Medicago (7), Ornithogalum (7), Salvia (7), Euphorbia (6), Ranunculus (6) and Veronica (5). Among the endemic taxa, 33 (42.85%) exhibit Mediterranean elements, 11 (14.38%) feature Iranian-Turanian elements, 1 (1.29%) showcases European-Siberian elements, while 32 (41.55%) are characterized by multi-regional or unknown phytogeographic regions. The IUCN categories of endemic taxa were reviewed, revealing that 1 is classified as CR (Critically Endangered), 5 as EN (Endangered), 6 as VU (Vulnerable), 58 as LC (Least Concern),1 as NT (Near Threatened) and 6 as NE (Not Evaluated (Anonymous 2; Kalyoncu vd. 2017).
