Life and historical personality of Büsr b. Ebû Ertât

Busr b Abi Ertat, who was born close to the death of the Prophet (pbuh), did not belong to a well-known family in terms of serving Islam; Due to his young age, he is not well known personally. Busr b Ebi Ertat, who participated in campaigns especially in his youth, served under the existing authority as a soldier, and gradually became known for his military skills over time. Not much information can be found about him during the first two caliphs' periods. Busr, who gradually came to the fore during the period of Hazrat Osman and Hazrat Ali, had a great love for Hazrat Osman during this period, and after the murder of Hazrat Osman, he supported Muawiye b Abi Sufyan, who demanded blood of Hazrat Osman with his extreme fanaticism took place. He took sides against Ali in the Battle of Siffin, performed duties in favor of Muawiye and did not leave his side. During this period, Busr b Ebi Ertat came to the fore with his obedience to Muawiye and was very cruel towards the opponents of Muawiye. He became an influential figure by achieving many successes, especially in the military field. In this study, in which we discuss the biography of Busr b Ebi Ertat, his life and historical personality have been tried to be handled in accordance with the conditions of the period.
