Özet (EN)

Big Data is defined as a whole of technologies that try to obtain value by collecting, processing, analyzing, storing and drawing meaningful conclusions from different types of data stacks that are too large to be processed in time with the existing technologies. Big data technology is used in many areas such as science, health, commerce, media and arts. New media artworks are created by processing big data with specific software and artificial intelligence applications in the field of art. At the intersection of science, technology and art, Refik Anadol, who uses big data as a basic material and interprets it aesthetically with various software and artificial intelligence applications, qualifies his works as data paintings and data sculptures. In this study, concepts such as big data, new media, new media arts, data painting and data sculpture are tried to be explained and the use of big data in new media arts is examined with Refik Anadol's studies.
